Our annual "Ugly Sweater Christmas Party" starts Friday night, Dec. 7, at 7:00 pm and lasts till Saturday morning at 8:00 am. YES...YOU HEARD CORRECTLY! Its a LOCK-IN. The Youth Council heard your pleas!

PARENTS are invited to participate in the fellowship meal which kicks off our lock-in. Marcus and our Youth Ministry Support Team would like to share some exciting upcoming plans for our student ministry in this coming year.    Parents can then escape while the students enjoy the evening of - karaoke, cosmic bowling, ugly sweater fashion show & prizes, white elephant gift exchange, crazy games, snacks and more.

UPWARD BASKETBALL IS BACK!

FBC Huntersville will be sponsoring an Upward Sports Basketball league targeting 6th-8th grade boys and girls this winter.  Registration has already started with a final deadline of November 8. FALL FESTIVAL & YOUTH TIME: Nov 2

Saturday, November 2 a Children's Fall Festival followed by a Youth Fellowship will be hosted at David and Rita Mashburn's home (12309 McCord Road, Huntersville).

Youth will run the festival games for the children from 4:00-6:00 pm and then enjoy some fellowship time around the bonfire from 6:30-8:30 pm. Any youth interested in helping lead any of the games for the children or adult chaperones interested in helping with either of these fellowships contact Marcus at 864-245-8791.

BLAST RETREAT: NOV. 9-10
       Our annual fall student retreat (this year at Look-Up Lodge) is next weekend. This is a time when our students get away for a couple of days to grow their friendships and gets focused for the year's ministry.
We have nearly fifty people from our church attending this year's BLAST Retreat. We'll be joining two other churches - FBC Lincolnton and Enon Baptist from Salisbury. The registration deadline was Oct. 21; however, students may still register to be placed on the Alternates List incase someone is unable to go.
        Buses will pull out of the church parking lot next Saturday morning (Nov.9) at 7:00 am and return Sunday (Nov.10) around 10:00 pm. Retreat information packets went out this week. You can find more copies available this Sunday at the Discipleship Center's welcome desk.
        We covet your prayers for the students and adults attending this retreat as God has great things in store.

West Virginia Mission Team 2013 Returns

The W.Va. mission team returned late Sunday afternoon full of great memories and good stories.  They look forward to sharing their experiences with their church body!  Thank you for the opportunity to serve the Lord on behalf of FBCH.

MIDWEEK NEWS - JUNE 19TH!

MIDWEEK Youth Connection this Wednesday, June 19th, will be from 4:00-6:00pm at the COOKOUT in Huntersville (off of Hwy 21).  If you aren't traveling to West Virginia on the mission trip, stop by the Cookout and see whose there to eat with, hang-a-bit and share what insights you've gain from reading LOVE DOES (chaps 4-6).  If you still need a copy of our summer devotional book, stop by the church and pick one up for $5/cover price $15.99. Also remember to pray for our W. Va. mission team this week! 

P.67 NEWS!!

PLANET#67 (for rising 6th and 7th grade students) is tomorrow, Tuesday, June 18th! It will return the following week to Wednesday. This change is due to many of our students going on the West Virginia mission trip this Wednesday. Hope to see yah at 10:00 am tomorrow in the Ed Building ready for P.67! MARCUS NEEDS WORLD CAFE TABLE HOSTS

Beginning this Sunday, June 9 & running through August 18, Sunday morning Bible study will take on a different look. At 10:15-11:30am in the Exchange students will have a World Cafe Experience. Regular S.M.C. & Bible study groups will return on August 25. Marcus is looking for students & adults to host one of the five tables in the Exchange. Hosts will welcome students & facilitate table discussion over the questions found on their table. Those interested in hosting so far are: Karley Bates, Neal Clayton, Greg Bass, Rob Bales. There are others interested but have not followed up with Marcus. WV MISSION TRIP - June 19-23

WEST VIRGINIA MISSION TRIP for Families, Youth & Senior Adults!

Registration runs to this Sunday, April 28 and requires a $50 non-refundable deposit. Total trip expense is $100 per person based on 4-person per room occupancy.

AMPLIFY NEWS FOR THIS SUNDAY - APRIL 7

Today, April 7, we'll return to our regular scheduled afternoon breakout groups and Amp activities with a countdown of only FIVE days till D.NOW WEEKEND!! So instead of our Amp-Worship event this evening Marcus will share a message before everyone sinks their hands into building the set and decor of the various d.now stations. Try to make it this afternoon cause we're gonna need everyone's help! Oh, the d.now theme is....! Oop! It almost slipped out.

Get Your D.Now Prayer Bracelet this Sunday!

THIS EASTER SUNDAY youth are needed before & after each of the three worship services to distribute d.now prayer bracelets to people entering or leaving the sanctuary. Two locations for this should be the church vestibule and near the organ just outside the sanctuary doors. Students are needed at 8:45-9:10am, 10:00-10:30am, and 11:30am-Noon at those locations. Help Is Needed Planting Potatoes this Saturday!

HELP IS NEEDED TO PLANT POTATOES this Saturday in the community garden. Fifty pounds of potatoes translating to six garden rows need to be planted Saturday morning. ALL help will be much appreciated. Small Groups Off-Campus Night!! March 27th!

This evening our students' SMALL GROUPS will be traveling off-campus to SPORTS CONNECTION off of Harris Road for some laser tag and/or video game fun. The bus will leave around 6:00 pm with a few adult vehicles remaining to transport participating students from Shekinah. Laser tag will be available from 6:30-7:00 pm. Youth need $8. They plan to return to campus at 7:30 pm. Forms for this outing remain available outside the Exchange on the student information table and are required for this activity.

March 17th AMPLIFY News!

AMPLIFY NEWS: This Sunday after our students shared meal time in the dining hall at 6:00pm everyone will go to the sanctuary for a special presentation from the Center of Congregational Health at 6:30pm. I heard this same presentation two weeks ago and it will be worth your time! Plan to join the church body this Sunday as they look to the future together!

WANNA DO AMPLIFY @ NORTHCROSS THIS SUNDAY?

WANNA DO AMPLIFY @ NORTHCROSS LANES THIS SUNDAY 5:00-7:00pm? This Sunday's afternoon breakout groups, shared meal and AMP event are cancelled due to many students away on a choir trip.

Join Marcus for a few bowling games, eat some pizza, play some laser tag and hangout. Northcross said $10 will get you shoes & unlimited bowling games for those two hours. Let me know so I can reserve some lanes. Drop off & pick up should be at Northcross. And who knows...beat Marcus' bowling score and he might buy you a slice of pizza! It could happen!!

STUDENTS NEEDED!

1) This Sunday, Feb. 24, a couple of students are needed to share brief testimonials at the WEST VIRGINIA MISSION meeting in the Exchange at 11:40am. These students would need to be planning to go this year on the West Viriginia mission in June. These testimonials could be 3-4 minute experiences that impacted them on their previous WV mission experience. Contact Marcus at mmims@fbc-h.org if interested.

2) Sunday, March 17, is looking like it will be a YOUTH SUNDAY. This is when the youth lead the first two services. We need testimonials, students to pray, read scripture, take up offering, lead in music, drama, etc. Let's start creating these services!

D.NOW Leadership Meeting - Jan. 27th!

We need your help to have a successful D-Now experience this year!  There is an urgent meeting this Sunday at 5 p.m. in ED201 to get the ball rolling.  Please make your best effort to come ready to participate however the Lord leads.

THIS SUNDAY - Jan. 20th!

There will be no AMPLIFY "shared meal" and "amp-event" this Sunday due to the Church Called Conference.  Amplify will return next Sunday, Jan. 27th with the Mission event. This Sunday at 4:00 pm students will have their regularly scheduled youth Hand Bell practice and Drama practice and at 5:00 pm One Voice youth choir will practice and the Recreation elective will be offered. Please note that Rec moved to the 5:00 pm.

PRAY that God will be present and be glorified in the Church Conference this Sunday! I hope to see you all on Sunday in early worship!  --- Marcus

AMPLIFY WORSHIP EVENT - THIS SUNDAY!

This Sunday afternoon youth return to their regular church activity schedule with a slight change. The recreation crew moves their time to 5:00-6:00 pm meeting at the desk in front of the gym. The shared meal continues at 6:00 pm followed by the AMPLIFY event. Youth are welcome to join just for the shared meal and AMP event. Remember to bring $2 to offset the food.


This Sunday is their AMP-Worship experience scheduled for 6:30-7:30 pm in the Exchange. An important church conference is schedule at the same time in the sanctuary that will affect our whole church body. Its my feeling that we should NOT cancel the Amplify Student worship experience. I feel the students time would best be served worshipping God together and praying for this meeting. Several students have made preparations to lead in the AMP service and I want to value their efforts. If some of the older youth and/or families feel they should attend the conference in the sanctuary they would be welcome to do so.

Following the Amplify event students are welcome to stay in the discipleship center with me and do their homework, play some games, get tutored by me (scary thought), join their parents in the church conference and/or just hang out. Students should NOT be roaming the church campus unsupervised. Don't forget to bring books if needing to do school work. The church conference may run long.

Have a great weekend, pray for our group going tomorrow evening to the Winter Jam concert in Charlotte, and hope to see you Sunday in worship!

WINTER JAM IS FINALLY HERE!

All youth & adults signed up to go together from the church...please note, we have bumped up the departure time to 3:00pm (sharp) pulling out of the church parking lot!  We want to make sure we get tickets and good seats for this incredible worship experience.  THINGS TO REMEMBER: $10 for your ticket, $ for food/snacks, eat good before leaving for the concert, bring event permission form (if not already turned in/MUST HAVE).  Expected return time is around 10:30pm! I will be at the Cookout eating at 2:30pm if anyone is interest in joining me.  C-Ya!
