CURRENTLY RECRUITING FOR THE FALL

THE FALL IS HERE and we need to get our leadership lineup for Sunday AM Bible studies & Wednesday evening small groups. The new church year for this leadership will begin in September and there is a lot of energy & kids moving into our youth program. If you are interested in getting your feet wet in our student ministry leadership, a returning leader in our student ministry, and/or have ideas of new offerings to share with our students, please contact Marcus at mmims@fbc-h.org. Marcus believes "There is no better place to serve the Lord then with our awesome youth!! They rock!" (Of coarse he's a little bias!)

This Week's Happenings for Youth (June 26-Aug 1)

Hangtime for High Schoolers (Tuesdays, 11:40am) will be at Chick-fi-la (exit 25/I-77 on Hwy 21). Bring a friend, share a meal, brainstorm on activities for Midweek's youth fellowship & pray together. Hope to see ya'll there!

Midweek Home Connection for all youth (Wednesdays, 6:00 -9:00 pm) will be this week at the home of Gina Ewart (13500 Ramah Church Road, Huntersville, 704-875-6580). There will be hotdogs, snacks, crazy outdoor games and a student devotion. Friends are welcome!! Recommended items to bring: old tennis shoes & clothes that they won't freak if they get a little dirty. GUYS should bring a 2-liter drink/GIRLS bring a snack to share.

Emerald Pointe Water Park Trip (Greensboro) is this Thursday from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm. If registered, please review earlier blog entries for more trip details. At this time there are no more reservations being taken.

Attention Summer Camp Participants!!

Sunday, August 29th from 6:00-7:00 pm following a hotdog supper (at 5pm) folks will get a chance to hear all about missions and camp activities that occured this summer at what is being called "INJOY MISSIONS". Youth who participated in the W.V. Mission Trip, Caswell Youth Camp and the Ukraine Mission Trip are encouraged to prayerfully consider how they might take part in sharing their experiences in these two - thirty minutes sessions that will be offered. Email Marcus if you are interested in taking part with the leadership of these sessions.

Emerald Pointe Reminder - Last Chance!!

Emerald Pointe Water Park trip to Greensboro is July 29 from 8am to 8pm. Participants must register by turning both payment and permission form into the church office (or black box labeled CASWELL in the Exchange) by Wednesday, July 21st.The trip is for current 6-12 grade youth. Cost is $40 (includes park admission, transportation and two meals - picnic lunch in the park & a fast food stop before returning). This date varies from the youth activity calendar due date. Any adults (college to senior adult age) interested in helping chaperon this trip, contact Marcus at mmims@fbc-h.org. Participants should be in the church parking lot by 8:00am that Thursday morning. Recommended items to bring: sun shades, hat, towel, change of clothes, sun screen, snack & drink moneys.

MIDWEEK & HANGTIME THIS WEEK - July 19-25

HANGTIME - This Tuesday (July 20; 11:40 am) high school youth meet at the Cookout (at exit #23/I-77 on Hwy 21) to share a meal and "ketchup" with each other.

MIDWEEK - This Wednesday (July 21; 6-9pm) our youth will stay on the church grounds for a crazy time of water games, snacks & devotion. Be sure to wear swimsuits under clothing that you don't mind getting messy. Bring a changing of clothes and a towel, $2 for the food kitty & girls bring a snack to share/guys bring a 2-liter to share. Friends are welcome!!

Hangtime & Midweek during the Week of July 12-18

HANGTIME - This next Tuesday at 11:40 am high school youth will meet at Tenders at the corner of Hwy 21 & West Moreland to catch a bite to eat together and talk about the summer. Andrew Danner will be there while Marcus is away with the Fort Caswell gang.

Midweek - This next Wednesday at 6:00-8:00 pm all current youth and their friends are encouraged to swing by the church at 6:00pm sharp to go somewhere to eat out, get a dessert and have a devotion time. Andrew Danner will be in charge in Marcus' absence. Parents interested in helping drive should contact Andrew at (704)609-1864. Permission forms will be located at the welcome desk downstairs in the breeze way of the Discipleship Center and are necessary.
