OCTOBER BABY

Kudos to Cecil Stokes for his imporant hand in bringing us OCTOBER BABY! Opening in theaters on Friday, March 23 (Our D.now Weekend date) OCTOBER BABY tells the story of Hannah, a young woman who learns that the story of her life is much different than what she's known up until now. Jon Erwin and Andrew Erwin directed the movie. The Erwin Brothers have won numerous awards as the directors of some of your favorite Christian music videos. Jon Erwin was the also the second unit director on COURAGEOUS, whose director Alex Kendrick says this about OCTOBER BABY: "A great film with a great message!"A Movie that Celebrates Life! If you believe that every life is beautiful and that a beautifully told story can touch hearts—and maybe even save lives—then get ready for OCTOBER BABY! [Note: "PG-13" rating is due to the mature thematic material]

The Story: As the curtain rises, Hannah hesitantly steps onto the stage for her theatrical debut in college. Yet before she can recite her first lines, she collapses. Countless medical tests all point to one underlying factor: Hannah's difficult birth. This revelation is nothing compared to discovering that she was actually adopted ... after a failed abortion attempt.Bewildered, angered, and confused, Hannah embarks on a journey with Jason, her oldest friend. In the midst of her incredible journey to discover her hidden past and find hope for her unknown future, Hannah sees that life can be so much more than what you have planned.

CASWELL YOUTH CAMP DATES - CONFIRMED!

CASWELL YOUTH CAMP dates for this year have been confirmed for July 2-7. Mark your calendars today to see an amazing firework display from the tip of Oak Island on the 4th of July. It is quite incredible especially joining youth from all over the coast who love God and desire to know and serve Him better.

CONGRATS TO ONE OF OUR FORMER D.NOW TESTIMONIAL SPEAKERS

Jordan Anderson’s 2012 racing season got off to a solid start over the weekend at the 2.3 mile, 14 turn Carolina Motorsport Park in Kershaw, South Carolina as the 20 year old driver piloted his #19 Forest Acres, SC open wheel roadster to Victory Lane over a strong field during the Winter Meltdown presented by the National Auto Sport Association SouthEast Road Racing Series.

The race was an exciting one for those in attendance. After starting from the outside pole, Anderson grabbed the early lead on the first lap from pole sitter Rob Hall but it was not without challenge. During the mid-point of the race the top position changed hands eight times between the two leaders as they raced fiercely for the win. The race was seemingly going to come down to a last lap battle, but with two laps to go Anderson was able to regain the lead and finished off the final circuits out front landing a visit to Victory Lane.

“It’s definitely an incredible feeling to come out on top after a race like that.” said Anderson of Forest Acres, South Carolina. “The amount of side by side racing that Rob and I did was what a racer lives for. We were both pushing our cars to the edge every single lap hoping to gain the slightest advantage over the other. It was a really exciting race and I feel that it will give my racing program a lot of momentum moving forward with the year.”

Jordan, we pray the Lord will keep you safe as you race and continue to give you opportunities to share His Love with others! GodSpeed!

HOW TO MAKE LEMONADE..WHEN LIFE OFFERS YOU LEMONS

Unfortunately our Saturday Winter Jam trip was not too pretty. Our crew showed up Saturday night in Greensboro to a sold out concert at the Coliseum an hour and a half before the show. Who would have "thunk it"! Unable to join this not so merry crew, I was with my mother in Florence undergoing a critical surgery. Our amazing chaps (for whom I am grateful for stepping up at the last minute in my absence) tried to make lemonade out of lemons by going to the movies. Bad turned to worse as the quality of movies available led to the youth journeying home two hours earlier then expected. The old He-Haw TV series would have put it this way, "Gloom, Despair, Agony on Me...WoooOhhhOhhhh!"

Praise God, I heard most of the youth handled the twists of events quite well. I sincerely hate things turned out like they did; though, it begs the questions...How should Christ-followers respond to disappointment? How should Christ-followers respond to inappropriate influences? Here are a few scriptures that can help us ponder our responses to these questions ---Ephesians 4:14-5:21; 1 Peter 4:7-11; James 1:13-2:3; 1 John 2:3-6.

Girls Gone Wild with Praises!!

Thanks Reagan and Karley for the artistic words of praise to our Lord left on a board in a classroom in our children's wing. If only our lives were that filled with uplifting words of praises...the picture of our world would be so different. Keep spreading His love! However, don't forget to erase the board before the ink becomes permanent, ok? Cheerios!

A Shout Out to Ms. Emily Bales!

Last week Ms Emily Bales had her photo and an interview included in the Lake Norman News when the AngelCare Parent's Night Out program was highlighted and her leadership in it. AngelCare is a local program sponsored by Parks & Rec and Cornelius PARC where a free night of babysitting is offered monthly for up to 3 hours to special-needs children and their siblings. Their recent January night had a Pajama Party theme and Emily is seen here doing what she does best...caring!! To God be the Glory!
