1 Peter 5:6-11
"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of suffering. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen" -- NIV
Working Hard to Care!
Praise God for caring hearts! In a culture that rarely notices those less fortunate it stirs your heart to see communities of faith joining together to feed the hungry. World Hunger Day earned about $34,000 before including moneys from the upc0ming Auction on Oct. 2nd. The moneys will go to feed kids in schools in Haiti and the local soup kitchen and food pantry in Huntersville. Kudos to the S.W.A.T. (students with a task) team and many others who worked very hard this past weekend "To the Glory of God"!

Mays Looking to Make the Big Play!
Sam Orr's Eagle Scout Project!!
BLAST'11 at CASWELL
The youth had great weather and a good bonding experience at this year's back-to-school retreat on September 9-11. They got to enjoyed Fort Caswell's beautiful setting and it left it's mark on the hearts of many of them! The theme was "I Smell....Good" which focused on how they should be the Aroma of Christ (2 Corinthians 2:14-17) as they geared up for the new school/church year on their various campuses. They enjoyed various "scratch-n-sniff" activities over the course of the weekend determining how a Christian should smell to God, to other believers and to the world around them. The challenge: that everyone may smell the presence of God in our lives!
