High School Puerto Rico Mission - July 20-27

On July 21-27 a mission team of high school students and adults will fly to Puerto Rico for a week of missions. I say "fly" because one of our youth thought we were driving there. Please offer your support by adding them to your regular prayer time as they begin making preparations, finding funding, and training for God's work ahead. Lift up the "Praying Pelican Mission" group that will be in Puerto Rico throughout the month of February establishing relationships with the people, churches and local organizations and developing this experience for our students.

CHRISTMAS FUN WITH THE YOUTH!!

What a fun night out it was with the youth at the "Ugly Sweater Christmas Party" this past Friday. The hideous sweaters brought quite a stir in downtown Charlotte while ice skating at the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Around fifty students joined us with only twelve or so daring enough to make a fashion statement. Jesse Meckola took home the "Hot Sauce" prize for his daring fashion taste and runway confidence. Kudos!!

A Special Thanks goes out to all our chaperons and party designers: Kathy, Ileana, Karen W., Karen H., Cindy, Jeff, Joel and guy in pink. Also thanks to the parents and youth for all the food and underwear donations. They were delicious...not the underwear. Merry Christmas...and remember to pass those sweaters on to a very special loved one. (:

Congrats to Sam Orr on Receiving the Eagle Scout Honor!

This past Sunday evening Sam Orr was added to the prestigious Eagle Scout Court of Honor. It was a beautiful celebration of not only Sam's accomplishments with hard work and determination in the past but also his family, his Troop #19 leaders and scouts, his church, his coaches and teachers invest in him to bring him to this point. With what he has done up to now, imagine what he will do in the future. Kudos, Sam!

The Rock & Worship Roadshow in Charlotte was Great!

What a great evening of worship it was this past Friday night in Charlotte. From MERCY ME and JARS OF CLAY to MATT MAHER and HAWK NELSON the Lord's name was indeed lifted up! We had a good group of youth join us which always made it extra special. Now we have eighty-two more days left till our gang heads to Greensboro for WINTER JAM.
